I still haven't found a style that I'm comfortable with, but I'm going to keep writing this blog as is and work on the style behind the scenes. Hopefully, I won't abandon this as tend to do with personal projects when it takes too much time.
I'm going to be embarking on a self-improvement regime, which actually started today. I got home late last night from seeing The Dark Knight, with a load of Taco Bell in my hands. It was a final splurge, as today and forward I am on a strict diet and exercise program in order lose my excess weight and get in better shape. I'm not sure how well the exercise is going to go. I'm going to try running, which I used to like doing, although I haven't done it since I was in a car accident several months ago and hurt my back. I'm going to try running once and see how it goes. If it hurts too much, I'll have to find some other way to do cardio. I'll also be doing some weight lifting to just get in shape and hopefully strengthen my muscles. If I do this right, my back may actually start improving more. At least I can walk if nothing else, but I'm hoping for something more vigorous.
So mark it: This morning, my weight was 190 lbs. For the record, I'm 5'11", so that puts me fifteen pounds over my maximum weight for a healthy BMI, which I know is not the be-all end-all of health measurements, but it's a starting point. This means, for the mathemetatically challenged, that I need to be 175 lbs. at most for a healthy BMI, but I would like to get to 165 lbs. or slightly less to give myself a margine of error. I wish I had a camera so I could do some before and after pictures. That means my goal is to lose 25 pounds for the time being.
As I mentioned, I saw The Dark Knight last night. This was actually the second time I saw it. The first time was almost a week ago on a whim with some friends visiting from the UK. It was great, but we got there kind of late to a full theater and wound up sitting in the second row. After about an hour, my neck was killing me. So I saw a late show last night at the IMAX on Universal Citywalk with much better seats. I won't give spoilers. I'll just saw that you should go see it now. Don't wait for the video. Don't wait for it to be on TV. This is a great movie. Not quite perfect (Christian Bale sounded more like he had a cold than trying to disguise his voice while he was Batman, especially near the end). So stop reading this and see it.

Needing a Change
There have been a number of changes in my life recently, which I won't go into just yet for personal reasons. However, it has given me an opportunity to think and reflect carefully.
One thing I've realized is my lack of commitment to this blog. In thinking about it, I think my biggest problem is that I'm not crazy about the default format of this blog. I understand that this system is supposed be fairly robust and versatile, so I'm going to try futzing around with it to give it a look and operation that I feel more comfortable with, and hopefully that will give me the impetus to really push forward and be more committed to updating this blog.
At least, that's the idea. See you in a couple months. :)
